#STAYATHOME: 4 ACTIVITIES AGAINST QUARANTINE BOREDOM

As the corona virus continues to spread we’re all confronted with finding new ideas of things we can do against the boredom and loneliness of quarantine. Here are 4 unique ideas that will bring a breath of fresh air into your everyday life.

1.GO OUT FOR A REALLY FANCY DINNER – BUT ACTUALLY STAY AT HOME

For almost two weeks now all restaurants have been closed and we’re starting to miss simply sitting in a café or dressing up and going to our favourite restaurant in the evenings.

We’re currently not allowed to go out to restaurants, but who said that we’re not allowed to turn our homes into a fancy restaurant?

You always wanted to make homemade ramen? Have a 3-course menu or simply order and pick up food from your favourite restaurant – it doesn’t matter. Get your partner, roommate or family, slip into your tie, suit and dress, decorate the table with candles and ejoy your meal at the Ristorante Quarantena.

Tip: For those who live alone, the whole thing can also be done via video chat. 🙂

2. INSTAGRAM LIVE CONCERTS

On 29.03.2020 the second #wirbleibenzuhause festival took place. Big names like Nico Santos, Max Giesinger, Clueso, Rea Garvey and Dermot Kennedy each played half an hour of their songs for us on a live stream.

Since all concerts in the “real world” were cancelled, our favourite artists are getting creative worldwide and are performing from their bedrooms and living rooms out into the entire world.

Check out your social media regularly and you’ll find tons of new content and live videos from artists of all genres.

3. OFF TO THE DIGITAL GYM

Gyms and all sports clubs are closed. To keep us fit during quarantine, many fitness clubs and sports freaks have thought of ways to continue offering their courses online.

The Munich Eisbachfit team has opened its live garage for the #stayathome phase and streams its training program live via zoom every Friday.

Urban Sports Club members have free access to the courses. For non-members the single lesson costs 6€.

Furthermore, many fitness coaches currently offer live streams and other video content with exercises for home use. For example, personal trainer and self-proclaimed Nutrition Nerd @hanjo_healthpunk regularly posts videos on Instagram and Youtube about bodyweight exercises, i.e. fitness exercises for which you only need your own body weight.

4. TRAVEL TO PARIS WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS – VIA VIDEOCHAT

Airports and train stations worldwide are at a standstill, our trips are all cancelled and wanderlust burns in all our hearts.

Friends and family can only be seen via video chat these days, but why not make it more fun next time. The video chat service “Zoom” offers virtual backgrounds for your video calls. Get the Paris background and meet your loved ones in Paris on your next call or sit up an Earl Grey and travel to London, the capital of the British, for an hour.
