Festive lighting, the finest arts and crafts, extraordinary gift ideas and fragrant delicacies – finally the time of the Christmas markets has dawned again. We can’t wait for this year’s Christmas markets! Here you can find out which are the most beautiful ones in Germany.

Christmas market on the Fraueninsel

Let yourself be inspired by a romantic winter fairy tale on the Fraueninsel at Chiemsee. The market on an island has it all, because it only takes place on the first two Advent weekends and offers a unique location. Over 90 exhibitors will be there and the market can only be reached by ship. Is there anything more romantic?

Christmas market in Frankfurt

One of the most visited and most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany finds its way to Frankfurt am Main every year. It is located between the Römerberg and the historic Paulskirche. The market is particularly popular because of its uniquely processed stoneware. From 25.11.19 you can admire the bright stand decorations in Frankfurt.

Christmas spirit in Munich

On 27.11.19 the Munich Christkindlmarkt opens its doors again – and the Christmas ambience is more than provided for. From Marienplatz to Neuhauser Straße, the market stretches right through the city centre and is always well attended. Our personal highlight: daily live music from the town hall balcony and the traditional “Krampus Laufen”.

Christmas market in Dortmund

Have you ever seen the world’s tallest Christmas tree live? In Dortmund you have the opportunity! Since 1996 the Dortmund Christmas Market has held the record for the highest Christmas tree with a height of 45 metres. 48,000 small lights provide enough light and offer a wonderful atmosphere. Altogether the construction of the tree takes a whole month, so it’s even more worthwhile to drop by for a glass of mulled wine.

No matter which Christmas market you choose, each one has its own charm and characteristics. But what they all have in common is the seductive scent of gingerbread and mulled wine.
