Boho-Chic – Not just an interior design, but a way of living

Everyone will certainly have one: a packed Pinterest Moodboad for the “Boho-Chic”-style. Fluffy cushions with tassels, draped linen blankets, large-leaved house plants in seaweed baskets and walls full of macramé – especially macramé. The former hip style has taken our living rooms and bedrooms by storm in recent years. We’ll tell you what exactly makes this style of furnishing so special.

The modern bohemian style captivates above all by one thing, namely its boundlessness of choice. There are no limitations, no restrictions. You furnish with the things that you like. It is the eclectic meeting of different styles that creates a unique mix of styles in every room.

The Boho style is therefore not replicable. The furniture and arrangement of it do not follow a uniform pattern. Every decorative item, no matter how small, tells its own story: “I found this branch yesterday out in the woods”, “I got hold of the lanterns at the flea market five years ago”, “The macramé in the back is a DIY”. The result: unmistakable unique pieces instead of exchangeable mass-produced goods. Bright, but not cold. Cosy, but not quaint. Neat, but not sterile.

Bohème Style à la Macramé

Just now the freedom from restrictions was emphasized, but one thing should not be missing in any Boho room: macramé. Whether as a basket for succulents, as a small coaster, or over the entire wall. A macrame provides the characteristic Boho style. Here you can find instructions for a DIY hanging macrame.

The Bohemian style is certainly not the result of a single tour to a furniture store. On the contrary, the Bohemian style lives from time, randomly found treasures in nature and an eclectic collection of various found objects. A style of furnishing that grows with you and is never fully completed.
