Cote d’Azur – some insider tips

youDRESSED Redaktion

The Cote d’Azur is decorated with cities like St. Tropez, Nice, Cannes and Monaco. But beside the known tourist places there are a few less known highlights along the coast of southern France. We will show you which places of the Cote d’Azur you have to visit!

Tip 1: Menton

Who thinks of the city Menton, also thinks of lemons! But it’s not only the tasty tarte au lemon or the lemon jam that makes the city popular. Menton also attracts visitors with the mildest climate in the Mediterranean, as the sun shines on more than 300 days a year. Wherever you go, you can feel the Italian flair everywhere. Italian? Yes! The beautiful little town is located about half an hour from Nice on the Italian border.

Tip 2: Port Grimaud

Located in the bay of St. Tropez, the lagoon city with its colourful houses, countless bridges and many canals reminds visitors of the beautiful Italian city Venice. Those who rent a holiday flat or a small holiday house often even have direct access from the own terrace to their yacht – if you own one. Tip: You can rent small boats to sail through the narrow canals yourself!

Tip 3: Coastal road Corniche d’Or

The route meanders for about 30 kilometres directly along the sea and offers you a fantastic view of the sea and the many red sandstones on the coast. Start at Saint-Raphaël and head towards Mandelieu-la-Napoule. If you like it even more romantic, you can drive this road in the late afternoon and enjoy the low sun and the sunset!
