Breakfast for Dinner – when the evening turns into the morning

Breakfast is known to be the most popular meal of the day and also the most important. What gives you a good start to the day in the morning is also a good way to let the day come to an end.

It’s no secret that breakfast is one of the favorite meals of many people. Sometimes during the week there is not enough time to treat yourself with a substantial breakfast. So why not just move the beloved meal to the afternoon? There are plenty of different breakfast dishes that are also ideal for dinner. Here we have a few ideas for (very) late brunch!

Breakfast Burrito

For example, a burrito is a meal that can be combined at any time of day. For that reason, a breakfast burrito is best suited for an evening brunch. From the dozen different possible combinations, we have chosen one that we particularly like.

The Ingredients:

  • one avocado
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 100g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 eggs
  • 50ml whipped cream
  • some salt, pepper and coriander

First of all, divide the avocado in half and cut lengthwise into wedges. Then drizzle with lime juice.

Mix the eggs well with whipped cream and season it with salt and pepper.

In the last step, spread the scrambled eggs (with fried bacon, if necessary) on the tortilla. Put the avocado, cheese and some cilantro leaves on the tortilla.

The last step is just to wrap the burrito in a way that it does not open unintentionally while eating it.

Smoothie-Bowl with Banana, Mango and Berries

Some days, you’re craving a light and refreshing meal in the evening. That’s when a smoothie bowl comes in handy. The good thing about it is that the bowl can be prepared super quickly and doesn’t require an eternally long list of ingredients.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 200g mango
  • 150g mixed berries
  • 2 dates
  • 100ml unsweetened almond milk
  • 2EL chia seeds

Peel the banana and cut the mango. Pure the fruit in a blender and add the dates and almond milk to it. Mix all ingredients nicely together.

Place the smoothie into cute bowls and decorate it with fruits, almonds, coconut chips and (if you have) granola.


The papaya bowl is also known as the papaya boat and is definitely a good change from the old familiar yogurt bowl with fruit.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 medium papaya
  • 150g yogurt
  • 150g cottage cheese
  • 1 small banana
  • 50g blueberries
  • 4 tbsp spelt flakes
  • 2 tbsp. flaked almonds
  • 2 tsp. liquid honey

First cut the papaya in half and remove the seeds. Mix the yogurt and cottage cheese in a separate bowl before filling it into the inside of the papaya.

Peel the banana and cut into slices. Mix the fruit, the spelt flakes and the almond flakes into the yogurt-quark mixture and sweeten it with honey.

If desired, add other toppings to the bowl.

If you also like savory food for breakfast, you should give the cheese omelet a chance.

The Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 100ml cream
  • pepper
  • 200g sliced cheese
  • 1 small onion
  • 100g mushrooms
  • 1/2 bell bell pepper
  • oil

First of all, mix the eggs with the whipped cream and season the mixture with lots of pepper.

Wash the mushrooms and cut them into slices. Chop the onions and dice the peppers.

Heat a bit of oil in a non-stick pan and fry the mushrooms and onions. Then add the egg mixture. When it has hardened, put the cheese on top and spread the bell pepper pieces. Cover the pan and cook the omelette on the lowest heat for about 15 minutes.
