Snowy winter landscapes, a breathtaking mountain range and a wide variety of activities. In addition to various ski slopes, the individual ski resorts also like to invite you for extensive shopping tours and culinary evenings.

Ski resorts are a dime a dozen. Especially for beginners it is not always so easy to find the right place where all needs can be combined. For this reason, we present you four ski resorts that cover everyone’s needs.

4 VALLÉES – SWITZERLAND

To understand that this ski area consists of four valleys and their mountain ranges, you do not need to take a French class. The area is located in the Swiss canton of Valais and includes the communities of Les Masses, Thyon, Veysonnanz, Nendaz, La Tzoumaz, Verbier and Bruson. Winter sports fans will definitely get their money’s worth here: with more than 400km of slopes, more than 80 lifts, as well as many other options for cross-country skiers and snowshoe hikers, Switzerland’s largest ski area has a lot to offer.

Even for those who don’t like winter sports, the Swiss villages have all kinds of alternatives waiting for them. Probably the best-known resort in the ski area is Verbier. The mountain village, located on a sunny plateau, not only captivates with unique sunrises and sunsets, which can be perfectly observed from modern furnished chalets. A variety of restaurants and bars provide tourists with Swiss culinary delights.

SÖLDEN – SWITZERLAND

For many, Sölden is known primarily as a World Cup resort in alpine skiing. But the ski resort, which is largely located on a glacier, has much more to offer. 144 kilometers of slopes provide ski fans, whether beginners or advanced, with the necessary adrenaline, whereas the 33 ski lodges provide the appropriate refreshment for further highlights on the slopes.

Winter sports enthusiasts can already get their skis ready in September. Some of the slopes are open from September to May. This is not the only highlight in Sölden: The ski area extends over three 3,000-meter mountains.

Every two years in April, the glacier is transformed into a theater stage, where the unique crossing of the Alps by the commander Hannibal takes the spotlight. Especially for theater lovers is this a mandatory event.

MÉRIBEL – FRANCE

The French ski mecca is located in the middle of the Trois Vallées in the French Alps. Just like its predecessors, Méribel also benefits from its geographical location in the alpes and allows ski lovers to enjoy around 70 slopes set in a fantastic backdrop. Beginners in particular can take advantage of the sometimes short runs of Méribel-Mottaret to improve their skiing skills. Freestylers also get their money’s worth: two snow parks ensure that the very brave can let off steam properly.

Méribel has a lot to offer not only for skiers. Those who don’t necessarily want to spend the whole day on skis can pass the time with snowshoe hikes or a visit to the spa. Stars such as Emma Watson are already thrilled by the flair of the French resort.
