09 Mar This is where holidays begin: f.re.e – Bavaria’s largest travel and leisure fair
Travel highlights, wellness & outdoor sports as far as the eye can see: In eight exhibition halls covering a total of 80,000 square metres, f.re.e presented everything surrounding the topics of travel destinations and leisure action for five full days (from the 19th to the 23rd February) at the Munich-Riem exhibition centre.
On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, f.re.e (Leisure, Travel, Recreation) is making a big splash and, with over 1,300 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, is presenting new, exciting and inspiring products from the seven theme islands of Travel, Health & Wellness, Caravanning & Camping, Water Sports, Outdoor, Cycling and Cruise & Boat Trips.
The attractive repertoire from the leisure and travel industry was presented to the 130,000 visitors in numerous worlds of experience, show programmes and active demonstration rounds for them to take part in and ensured enthusiastic faces from young and old alike.
Tourists can easily rent a bicycle on site and a large car park in Bokrijk offers plenty of parking space. Moreover, it is never possible to get lost at any time, as the routes are well signposted. Not a bicycle lover? No problem, because the unique path is of course also accessible for pedestrians.

Individual and spontaneous travel in your own mobile home is more popular among Germans than ever before. This year’s partner country Italy, which was also the partner country in the first edition of the fair 50 years ago, will present holiday activities that every heart desires: Canoeing, cycling or hiking in the Abruzzo region. When presenting the destinations, the focus was on sustainable travel in Italy.
