youDRESSED Editor

The Hanseatic city of Hamburg is always a valuable tip for a city trip. What you can experience there besides a harbor tour and fish sandwiches, we tell you in the article.

One of the most popular cities in Germany is definitely Hamburg. The city-state in the north is the second largest city in the country and especially popular with young people. From culture to culinary delights, travelers can expect a lot. And what exactly, you will learn from us.

HAMBURG ART MILE

The Hansestadt is known for many things – the wonderful harbour, the Reeperbahn and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. But there is still a lot to experience in this city.

What tourists usually do not have on the screen, but should still visit, is the Hamburg Art Mile. Especially the heart of art lovers starts beating faster here.

The 1.5 km long art mile has a lot to offer. In this street are located the state museums, various exhibition institutes and even private galleries, which have 30,000 square meters of space. From ancient times to the present – all art epochs can be found here.

Eating

There are many good restaurants, but TyoTyo is very special. The unique design and food concept is very admirable. The sushi in this place is fused with the current food trends, which makes the experience even more unique. The location directly on the water also creates a particularly beautiful ambience. So you could say the best conditions for a nice evening.

If you’re in the mood for regional food, VLET Kitchen & Bar is the perfect place! The restaurant is located directly on the Jungfernstieg, below the Alsterarkaden. The selection ranges from schnitzel to Hanseatic dishes! The daily lunch menu changes so there is no boredom. The desserts and the modern bar are further plus points that speak for a visit to the restaurant.

The Schanzenviertel

The Schanzenviertel is one of the most impressive districts in Hamburg, according to the residents of the city themselves. Besides the cultural offer, there are plenty of bars, restaurants, museums and clubs to visit.

From morning to evening there is a program here. To start the day, we recommend a visit to Café Koppel. Even though the place is a bit hidden, it’s worth looking for it.

From there we recommend a detour in the direction of the Schanzenmarkt. This always takes place on Fridays from 14:30-19:30 and is a great opportunity for every tourist to get to know the authentic Hamburg. In addition, a very individual souvenir of the trip to the Hanseatic city can be found at a flea market.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Now for the most important thing on the list: Accommodation.

It depends on how many people you are traveling with. There are a lot of hotels in the Hanseatic city, where it is good to spend the night. When traveling with friends, the choice is probably a hostel or AirBnB, whereas families prefer a hotel.

For a family trip there are numerous family accommodations. PIERDREI in HafenCity is a great place for the whole family.

If the accommodation should be more relaxed and luxurious, there are of course also wellness hotels. The Gastwerkhotel has a lot to offer in this regard. In addition to a beautiful ambience, the spa area should not remain unused.

Hamburg is a great place for a trip. The trip to the Hanseatic city is always a great way to get away from it all for a weekend. This city has everything to offer – from food to sightseeing, there are no empty gaps.
