Everyone wants to travel around the world, but most of the time you are short on money to do so. Especially a trip to the biggest cities in the world can be very expensive. In order to prepare you for a bigger trip, we’ll introduce you to the most expensive cities in the world.

A trip is always something special to you- no matter if it is within your home country or a completely different continent. If you take a place from this list as an extravagant destination, you should prepare your financial status for it.

Ashgabat in Turkmenistan, an inland state in Central Asia, is one of the most expensive cities in the world. Attractions such as the Gate of Hell (a burning crater on collapsed gas field that has been burning continuously for almost 40 years) and the Karakum Desert can be admired here. Besides, the Arc of Neutrality is located there. However, the trip to Turkmenistan must be fully planned, because the visa for tourists is only valid for five days.

This Southeast Asian city has a lot to offer. One absolute sight to see is the Marina Bay Sands, which was only built in 2010. This 191 meter building with 55 floors not only contains a mall, there is also a casino, nightclubs, a hotel and so much more. What makes the metropolis so expensive are the general needs of housing but also food from abroad and general leisure activities.

In the 16th century, the economy was very boosted – which is also the reason why the city very quickly became the financial center of the country. In this metropolis, you have to dig a little deeper into your pocket. But at least Zurich has an impressive shopping offer – the famous Bahnhofstraße, which is also very famous internationally!

Besides shopping, there is a huge cultural diversity in this city, a wide range of Escape Rooms and many attractions related to the Swiss Alps.

The city of love has many sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Cathédrale Notre-Dame – the Palace of Versailles is also very close. Of course, you can visit the magnificent Disneyland Paris and marvel the fireworks at midnight sharp.

Other very interesting activities would be, for example, a trip on the Seine – goes also at night. Even a dinner boat trip can be planned and booked. There are also endless museums to visit. The Louvre Museum is one of the most visited museums in the world!
