COCKTAILS FOR THE SUMMER: UNUSUAL RECIPES YOU HAVE TO TRY OUT

youDRESSED Editor

The days are slowly getting longer again and the sun is coming up – this is the perfect opportunity for you to try something new! There nothing better than enjoying cocktails on a warm summer night.

The great thing about cocktails is that you can mix them together based on your personal preferences. That’s why you’ll find a few recipes here that are quick and easy to create!

SPICED POPCORN GIN SOUR

For the spiced popcorn sugar syrup:

  • For the spiced popcorn sugar syrup:
  • 300ml water
  • 300g sugar
  • 25g spiced popcorn (see recipe here)

For the cocktail:

  • 30ml Spiced Popcorn Sugar Syrup
  • 20ml lemon juice
  • 45ml gin
  • 1 egg white
  • Cayenne pepper powder
  • Spiced popcorn, for garnish

Put the water and sugar in a pot and boil. Stir occasionally and simmer until the state of the sugar has dissolved. Then remove from the heat and add the spiced popcorn. Leave to stand for 30 minutes.

Mix it by using a hand blender until the popcorn is finely chopped. Pour the syrup through a fine strainer – the solids can be thrown away. Set the sugar syrup aside.

Red Russian

Red Russian is one of the easiest drinks you can make! You only need a few ingredients!

  • 4 cl vodka
  • 25ml cherry liqueur
  • 3 ice cubes
  • some mint
  • 1 piece of cocktail cherry

Grab your (whisky) glass and put a few ice cubes in there. Then add the cherry liqueur. Before you stir everything, fill the glass with a little vodka.

This drink is not complete without a cocktail cherry. Add the cherry to the glass and decorate it further with the mint – voilá, the cocktail is ready!

Egg Chegger

  • 6cl egg liqueur
  • 1 cold Espresoo shot
  • 3cl cream
  • 3cl milk
  • 1cl sugar syrup
  • Ice cube

For decoration: cold milk foam as topping, cocoa powder for sprinkling

Here you need a cocktail shaker. Fill the shaker halfway with ice cubes.

Add the eggnog with a cold espresso shot, milk, cream and sugar syrup to the already filled cocktail shaker and shake vigorously.

Pour the contents into a tumbler on ice cubes and then add cold milk foam. If necessary, sprinkle with cocoa powder.

Amaretto Sour

  • 200ml amaretto
  • 3-4 lemons, squeezed (120 ml)
  • 1 egg white
  • a small jar or tin of cherries in syrup
  • Ice cubes

Put the amaretto, lemon juice, egg white and 4 teaspoons of cherry syrup into a blender. Here, the ingredients can be poured into a large cocktail shaker. Afterwards, only shake vigorously.

Puree the mixture a few times on high speed until it becomes light in colour and gains volume. If the blender is able to crush ice, a handful can be added. Blend until it becomes cool. Alternatively, the ice can be stirred in later – until the outside of the glass is cold.

Finally, divide the final product between glasses and garnish with cherries.

This list is great for people who want to try out something new. If you have a Friday night to spare, it’s a great opportunity to try one of these cocktails.
